    Anglo-Saxon workshop with the Durham Oriental Museum

    This afternoon Year 5 took part in an online workshop all about the Anglo – Saxons with the Durham Oriental Museum. They had a great afternoon taking on the role of archeologists by looking at a range of different artefacts and deciding what they thought they were and used for.

    Visit from The Flood Risk Management team

    This afternoon Year 5 had a visit from a member of The Flood Risk management team. We had fun playing BINGO to learn about animals found in and around the River Tyne. We then found out about flooding and what causes it as well as who is effected by flooding.

    This week a Year 5 learnt how to do a centipede balance- they even managed it with up to 4 people!

    Year 5 Gymnastics

    This week Year 5 began gymnastics with the Grassroots coach. They began working on some basics skills including forward rolls, teddy bear rolls and pencil rolls. They then moved onto some more complicated partner balances which included the ‘bunk bed’ and the ‘frog”
