To commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Year 5 watched a short video about a lady called Dorothea who was a WREN during WW2. They learnt  all about what it was like for her during the war and how she felt on VE Day itself. Following on from this, the children wrote letters to veterans asking them questions about VE Day, explaining why we remember them on this day and why we are grateful to them.
 

They then used Morse code to crack some codes to see what it was like for those who used Morse code during wartime.
