Year 6 visited St.Mary’s Heritage Centre in Gateshead to learn about the events of the Great Fire of Gateshead. They explored the local areas of Newcastle and Gateshead which remain significant in the story of the event and located the blue plaque to mark the fire’s starting point. They had an excellent time and were praised for their curiosity, enthusiasm and behaviour by the staff at St. Mary’s. Well done, Year 6!
