Year 5 take on York – Jorvik and DIG!

Year 5 had a fantastic day in York yesterday learning all about the Vikings. They spent the morning at the Jorvik centre exploring a replica of a Viking town below the streets of York which was extremely authentic down to the smell!

From Jorvik we went into DIG where we found out about the important role of archeological findings play in telling us about the past before having a go at becoming archaeologists ourselves!

Our busy day ended with a workshop on Viking battle tactics in which we looked at many Viking weapons and even had a go at using some!
