Our place in space

Year 5 have spent the day at The Great North Museum today exploring the galleries. They have found out about how the constellations link to different animal names and how the planets in our solar system are named after Roman gods and goddesses.

They then spent time in the planetarium having a tour of space before a workshop all about our place in space and the role the moon plays with the tides. They had the opportunity to look at different animals that are found in tidal habitats.
