To begin their enquiry into the impact the Roman’s had on Britain, Year 4 visited Segedunum Roman Fort and discovered lots about Roman life in the fort, the uniform that legionary and auxiliary Roman soldiers wore and Emperor Hadrian’s wall that protected the Roman’s from the Celts in the North East! The class learnt how the march like a Roman soldier, with their own shields and spears, using the Latin names for their weapons to turn left and right when marching into battle.
