Division with Remainders

This morning, Year 3 have been exploring division with remainders through a shape-themed problem-solving activity. For each problem, they would use a specific number of lolly sticks then see how many of the same shape they could create (i.e. equal groups) before calculating the remainders. They explored this for a range of shapes such as triangles, squares and pentagons, before challenging themselves with more complex 2D shapes such as heptagons and octagons.

Well done Year 3!
