Traditional Tastes

Last week, Year 3 carried out a tasting activity which required them to sample a range of ingredients associated with traditional Christmas treats. The children explored a number of flavours such as dark chocolate, peppermint (in the form of a candy cane), marzipan, gingerbread, Christmas cake and dates.

Following the sampling session, the children applied their newfound knowledge and understanding of spreadsheets to a data handling activity, where they represented their findings in relation to the most popular traditional taste in Year 3.

Their findings were as follows:

  1. Dark Chocolate – 4
  2. Marzipan – 1
  3. Peppermint – 18
  4. Dates – 1
  5. Gingerbread – 0
  6. Christmas Cake – 1
