Yesterday Year 3 kick-started their “Stone Age to Iron Age” topic by carrying out a research task in order to help them answer the following enquiry question: were stone age people purely just hunter and gatherers?

From doing so they were able to find the following information/evidence to help them in doing so:

Yes:

• “They ate berries, leaves and nuts”
• “They hunted deer”
• “They mined for flint”
• “They made clothes out of animal skin”
• “They made tools out of natural materials”
• “They constructed boats so they could catch more fish”

No:

• “They constructed stone circles”
• “They made jewellery out of shells”
• “They created cave paintings”
• “They used red clay as body paint”
