Brilliant Balances
Today in gymnastics Year 3 explored how to perform a range of different balances. First they demonstrated using their bodies to create a range of basic gymnastic shapes. Next they were introduced to the term “body tension” (tensing all of your muscles to hold a shape) and how this helps to ensure balances are stable and still. They were then introduced to the terms “point balance” (a balance on a small body part) and “patch balance” (a balance on a large body part) before working with a partner to produce some interesting point and patch balances.
