They explored the morals behind the story 'The Dot' and created their own 'Dot' masterpieces!

They first tested making a complex structure without them and quickly realised their impact in their second, more successful, builds!

Year 6 then wrote their own 'I Have a Dream' speeches and performed them to the class.

They learnt all about the impact the donations would have on members of the local community and how to make a care package. Thank you to Steve and Chris, who welcomed us and appreciated the donations.

They learnt all about the wonders of different STEM subjects and were encouraged to consider the different careers available to them in the future. They learnt all about the biologists attempting to contain viruses, how oil plantations work, the varied roles of Nissan engineers and how scientists are developing greater technology to understand space.

Some children took inspiration from the books we have read this year and others used their English work to inspire them. They also took part in a World Book Day themed maths quiz, which tested various maths skills they have developed so far this year.

They learnt how to deliver CPR to children and adults, using dummies to practise their technique. The children also learnt how to use a defibrillator, using a demonstration machine. Here are what just some of the children had to say about their experience:

* ‘That was inspirational! Sergio didn’t give up trying to set up his charity!’
* ‘I’ll never forget how to do CPR now!’
* ‘That was the best assembly we’ve had!’
* ‘It made me emotional – he didn’t give up and I know I can do anything now.’
